For me fashion and style are about comfort. What I choose to wear ultimately depends on how much of a positive impact the items have on me. I put something on and ask myself, "do you feel comfortable, is your confidence getting a boost and do you look cute?" If the answer is yes to all three questions, a purchasing decision is made and no exceptions were made during my styling process for Windhoek Fashion Week.
The look I went with for Day 3 was described by fellow blogger and my friend, Ros Limbo as, "edgy but sleek" and I couldn't agree more! Black sequence crop top: The Lot Cape Town (a gift from my amazing boyfriend) Maroon (I'm not good with the Color pyramid, clearly) skirt (with pockets, yay!): Forever New (on sale, coz I am el cheapo for life) Gold strappy heels: Foschini (they stock the most comfy shoes ya'll)
For Day 4, stylist Jaimee-Lee Diergaardt really urged me; to go outside the bounds of my comfort zone and after much nudging, I agreed and I have no regrets!
Mesh black dress: Foschini (A gem from the Sale section)
Denim coat: The Read Shelf (coz thrifting is life) Black heel: (you guessed right) Foschini Black glitter clutch: Accessories
Lessons I've learned from Fashion Week:
Fashion is about fearless, fun, self-expression. Your style should reflect your confidence and your clothes should compliment and help celebrate your figure! Also an event like WFW only comes once a year, its an excuse to dress up and take risks! Embrace it.
