All lyrics aside, lets talk about my love affair with books and how many I've read this year (EIGHTEEN!!!) but first, a short back-story of how it all began.....
My mother used to work for the national library service in Namibia so I basically grew up surrounded by books. Most of my birthday and Christmas presents from her have always been books and I'm guessing that that's where my love for reading comes from. I remember her reading The Magic Faraway Tree to my sister and I at night and how I hungrily turned the pages of many Roald Dahl books as a child. Needless to say, I have grown into quite the bookworm and that is something that I am very proud of. It's one of my favourite things about myself and I've found that as I'm getting older, my love of books is growing with me. Books allow me to slip away into other worlds, they open my mind and make me feel alive. The bounds of my imagination are ever expanding with a book in hand and that is something that I cherish with all my heart.
As you can imagine I have a vast book collection (no, you cannot borrow a book, not sorry) but what I can do is share some of the book titles that I've read so far this year. Feast your eyes and take notes of titles that captivate you for your "to-read" list:

(Coelho has always been my favorite author and my brilliant boyfriend helped me complete my collection this year so I'll probably spend the rest of the year indulging in his poetic writing)

9. The Scars on My Skin - Keamogetsi Molapong (a soulful anthology published in Namibia)
10. Sophie's World - Josteen Gaarder (the best piece of philosophical fiction with an intellectual agenda that I've ever read)
